Heat Tape, Gutters

Heat Tape 2

Ice dams, clogged gutters, and snow-packed roofs can cause serious damage in mountain climates. At Leo’s Roofing & Remodeling, we provide comprehensive protection by integrating heat tape, custom steel gutters, downspouts, and snow fences that are designed to keep water and ice flowing away from your home or business - even if you’re considering a future green roof or other eco-minded upgrade. By taking a proactive stance, you can prevent leaks, foundation cracks, and other costly structural issues before they start.

Project Logistics & Preparation

Before work begins, we develop a Project Site Plan detailing your project’s schedule, loading areas, and designated work zones. Our crew generally spends about two days on-site, depending on the size of your property. We also cordon off the job area with caution tape to ensure customers, residents, or passersby avoid the construction zone.

Scope Preparation & Demolition

1. We cover vulnerable areas with tarps and use magnets to pick up any stray nails during daily cleanups.

2. Existing heat tape, gutters, and downspouts are removed and properly disposed of to create a clear space for new installations.

Gutter & Downspout Installation

Our team then custom-fabricates and installs Steel Pre-finished K-Style Gutters in lengths tailored to your roofline—often around 33 feet (or more) for seamless construction. Each section is color-matched to blend with your home’s exterior, providing a sleek, durable finish. We fit gutters precisely to optimize drainage and aesthetic appeal, while custom mitering corners to handle specific building designs.

Downspouts are also custom-placed to guide water safely away from the building. We use steel downspout extensions as needed to protect foundations and landscaping. Since each component is crafted to match your property’s color scheme, the result is a cohesive look that complements any existing siding or architectural style.

Heat Tape Installation

For properties susceptible to ice dams—especially around dormers, eaves, or valleys—we recommend commercial-grade 240V/6W heat tape to ensure continuous water flow. Serpentine patterns may be applied in high-snow areas to reduce buildup and minimize the need for manual snow removal. Should we find that extra heat tape is needed, we’ll contact you to confirm additions before proceeding—always respecting your breaker AMP allowance for safe electrical load management.

Snow Fences

In mountain regions, snow fences can be a crucial addition to protect both pedestrians and the roof itself. Installed along eaves or critical roof edges, these fences hold back large snow slides, preventing sudden avalanches onto walkways, driveways, or lower roof sections. Whether it’s a low-profile rail or a more robust design, each snow fence is chosen and positioned to balance safety with minimal visual disruption.

Replacing Existing Gutters, Downspouts, and Heat Tape

If your current system has deteriorated or isn’t performing optimally, we remove and replace each component. We custom-fabricate new K-Style gutters, ensure downspouts are in the correct locations, and install fresh heat tape in gutters, downspouts, and any vulnerable overhangs. This restores proper drainage and helps prevent freezing hazards all season long.

Project Closure

Once installations are finished, we tidy up your property, disposing of debris and leftover materials. All power connections and splice kits for heat tape are included in our proposal, so you have a fully functional system ready to handle Summit County’s toughest winters. We do our best to protect any reinstalled heat tape but cannot guarantee its functionality if it was already compromised.
